Whether you're in the town centre, out towards Shildon, Willington, Coundon or Escomb, we'll deliver, set up and demonstrate your sunbed free of charge — usually within a few days of booking. Choose from our Caribbean, Caribbean Max or Sapphire hire beds, all fitted with 0.3-compliant tubes, and we'll collect again at the end of your hire period. All our sunbeds are 0.3-compliant — the maximum UV output allowed under UK and EU law, roughly equivalent to midday Mediterranean sun. That's a legal ceiling, not a target, and how long you should tan for still depends on your skin.
UV light triggers melanin — the pigment that darkens your skin — as a defence response. UVB tubes mainly drive that colour change, while UVA reaches deeper and helps the tan develop and last. A 0.3-compliant sunbed is calibrated so that response happens without exceeding the same intensity as strong midday sun, but everyone's skin reacts differently, which is why starting times vary by skin type.
Burns easily and rarely tans deeply. Start around 5–8 minutes and increase gradually, watching how your skin responds each session.
Tans more readily with lower burn risk. 8–12 minutes is a sensible starting point, building up over your first few sessions.
Lower burn risk but not zero — overuse still ages skin and carries the same long-term risks. 10–15 minutes is typical, never straight to the maximum.
Sunbeds aren't suitable for everyone. As a guide, you probably shouldn't use one if any of the following apply — if in doubt, check with a doctor first.

Two forms of ID: proof of address (a recent letter or bill) and photo ID (passport, driving licence or government ID). We strictly do not sell or hire beds to anyone under 18.
Yes — just let us know at least 7 days before your hire ends, as we take advance bookings.
March–September is our busiest period, as people build a tan for summer, holidays and events — book as early as possible. Late autumn/winter has better availability, often 48-hour delivery, and cheaper rates.
The standard Caribbean runs from a single 13 amp plug, so it can be used with a suitable heavy-duty extension lead if there isn't a socket nearby. The Caribbean Max and Sapphire draw power through two 13 amp sockets, so for those we always recommend plugging directly into wall sockets.
We'll agree a day in advance and give you a call or text on the way. Once we arrive, we set the bed up, run through how everything works, and leave you ready to go — usually done within 20–30 minutes.
